2019 LWVNCA WORKSHOPS held on August 10, 2019

LWVNCA Summer Workshops were held August 10, from 9:45AM to 2:30 PM at the DC Public Library at Cleveland Park, 3310 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008.

  • Grants: Why you need, where to find, how to write
  • Voter Services - the three-legged stool: voter registration, voter education and Election Day voting
  • What is diversity in our Leagues: is it economic, political, age, ethnic, gender, geographic? How do we include it all with increasing membership?

LWVNCA Receives Award on April 23, 2019

Women & the Vote - Opposition to Women's Equality, from Suffrage to the ERA, December 6, 2018

Thursday, December 6, 7-8:30 pm at the National Archives William G. McGowan Theater

In partnership with the National Archives, the Equal Rights Coalition, and the 2020 Women's Vote Centennial Initiative, the National Woman's Party presents a panel discussion on the powerful forces that have come together to work against the equal protection of women under the law since the 1900s.

Panelists include Elaine Weiss, author of The Woman's Hour (slated to become a TV series produced by Hillary Clinton and Steven Spielberg), Marjorie J. Spruill, author of Divided We Stand, and Carol Robles-Roman, CEO and Co-President of the ERA Coalition.

National Voter Registration Day - September 25, 2019

The LWVNCA team registered voters and passed out VOTE411 Information on September 25th at the Nationals vs Marlins baseball game. And then they enjoyed the game! Thanks to LWVDC for organizing this fun event!

LWVUS Lobby Corp needs YOU!

The LWVUS Lobby Corps needs volunteers to carry the League message to Congress. Training,talking points are provided and members are assigned legislators to visit. If you are interested read the attached Lobby Corp brochure. If interested fill out this application and return to the LWVUS office.
