Shine a Light for Democracy: A Vigil for Voting Rights. Join the LWVDC at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial for a candle-lit vigil to shed light on the impact of the Shelby decision and demand that Congress restore the voting rights protections in the Voting Rights Act (VRA) by passing HR4 - Voting Rights Advancement Act.

LWVNCA Workshop, 9:45 AM - 2:30 PM. LWVNCA Summer Workshops of skill-building and sharing League experiences. Overview:
  • Why it is critical to get the 2020 Census right?
  • Grants: Why you need, where to find, how to write
  • Voter Services - the three-legged stool: voter registration, voter education and Election Day voting
  • What is diversity in our Leagues: is it economic, political, age, ethnic, gender, geographic? How do we include it all with increasing membership?

Workshop is being held at the DC Public Library at Cleveland Park, 3310 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008. (202-741-5989) The library is located about one block south of the Cleveland Park Metro stop (Red Line) on Connecticut Ave. There is parking available too.
